I’ve been enjoying working on an increasing number of outdoor weddings this year. Ysanne’s wedding was held in a clearing in the woodland of a country house estate. This secluded location in Warwickshire was a really magical place to get married.
When I met the bride and her mother at the consultation, they were very clear that they wanted wild flower arrangements that fitted with the outdoor nature of the wedding. The bride wanted a pop of colour and chose yellow, purple and blue. So, I used yellow spray rose, purple lisianthus and statice, blue thistle, white daisy chrysanthemums and gypsophila.
The large clearing surrounded by trees provided a perfect setting. The wedding ceremony was held in-front of a willow arch and I decorated the chairs on the aisle with large blue hydrangeas.
I suggested using the lovely bark containers you can see in the photos, to fit with the setting and the rustic wooden tables. Foliage were a key element to the arrangements, as the wedding ceremony and reception was being held in the grounds outside.
Ruscus, eucalyptus, pittosporum leaves and ferns featured throughout the arrangements giving the centrepieces tone and textures.
