Something borrowed, something blue! You may be considering having a blue wedding flowers . This colour theme has become increasingly popular.
There are not as many flower choices if you are thinking of blue flowers but don’t worry we have lots of experience of creating beautiful bouquets, centrepieces and decorations that feature blue wedding flowers.
Above you can see a simple but stunning handtied posy bouquet of blue hydrangeas. I love the colour of these hydrangeas, as they are a fabulous shade of blue. You can see how I have icorporated ivory freesias and gypsophilia.
Below you can see how I have used the blue hydrangea in a low wedding centerpiece. The hydrangeas have been combined with freesias, stocks, lisianthus and roses to give a real vintage country look.
You might want to think of incorporating other colours into your blue bridal bouquets. Below you can see a bride’s posy bouquet where I used the blue hydrangea as a base then added dusky pink roses, white freesias and bouvardia to add more colour and texture. In the right photo you can see a similar version where I have just added white freesias and bouvardia.
You might not have thought of teaming up blue and purple but that’s exactly what I did to create this stunning posy bouquet for one of our recent brides. The bridesmaids were wearing deep purple dresses and the bride wanted her bouquet to feature blue wedding flowers. So I combined the blue hydrangea with deep purple lisianthus and veronica to match her bridesmaids’ dresses, white and dusky pink roses and ivory freesias. I love this combination of colours and the richness of this bouquet (photo below).
We use a lot of blue thistles in bridal bouquets with a blue wedding theme. They work especially well in natural style bouquets like the one you can see here below. When I made this posy bouquet the bride wanted a bouquet that looked like it had been picked from her garden. We achieved this look by using flowers of different heights and textures including the blue thistle. You might also want to think about adding the silver eucalyptus that you can see here into your bouquet as it have a slightly blue hint to it.
So although there not as many blue flowers to choose from, with our creativity you can still have spectacular blue wedding flowers.
